Underground inspector and safety instructor exam applications are now being accepted

The West Virginia Board of Coal Mine Health and Safety (MHS&T) is accepting exam applications for underground inspector and safety instructor positions. 


Applicants must be a resident of West Virginia and have a minimum of five years of experience in the position for which they plan to test. 


Exam applications are available here or at any MHS&T regional office and the Coal Board office. 


Applications must be completed and received at the Coal Board Office by 4 p.m. Tuesday, October 18, 2022.
