The West Virginia Training and Conference Center provides safety training to the mining industry and maintains a modern industrial style meeting and training space to be accessed by both the public and private sectors. The facility reflects the mining culture and acts as an anchor facility in the Boone, Lincoln and Kanawha County areas.

The one-story facility boasts industrial and training solutions such as high-tech electrical labs, a three-story training tower, a fully equipped simulated underground mine lab, meeting spaces for large and small groups and a 350-person capacity banquet hall (7,424 square feet). The facility offers state-of-the-art equipment throughout, including Bose sound systems, overhead LCD projectors and digital screens, DVD players, and public access Wi-Fi. The banquet hall includes two catering kitchens with warming ovens and other kitchen equipment. The front parking lot houses nearly 200 spots for regular sized vehicles. The theater and classrooms feature HD projectors with 5.1 surround sound, dry erase boards, multimedia inputs and wired network connectivity at each desk.

The facility is in south central West Virginia with proximity to the Southridge lodging and shopping areas on U.S. Route 119 and approximately 30 minutes from the state capitol and airport.
